May 5 - Academic Adventures
Up fairly early, receiving the changes from Philip Glass's contact person re the Grove article, transferring San Fernando Hub (Op. 48) from PC to Mac, and composing seventh page of Psalm 55, reformatting King David: VII. Oh for the Wings of a Dove into Encore from Sibelius, before dropping videos at library
and
proceeding to
DVC for Quiz 14 -- Analysis -- the final academic exercise before the exam, with the next two weeks given over to student teaching and review.
Home via
the
last
walk
on
McGary Road
from the most northeasternly ranch gate
to
Red Top (nice double stop sign)
with panoramas
(heavy on the nouns, short on the adjectives)
all around.
After a supply run, movement VIII of 12 Fingers pdf'ed for linkeage and placement on IMSLP, with the video of Camino Real: Block 8 up to 45 seconds.
PC misbehaves a bit -- an error message never before seen (shut it down after a bizarre screen, and it boots right up back normal, as if nothing had happened... google issue, and it may or may not be serious) -- so redouble efforts to transfer music to the Mac by emailing over files of
Business As Usual (Op. 49)
L.A. Stories (Op. 50)
San Rafael News (Op. 51)
Abraham and Isaac (Op. 52)
Mice Suite No. 2 (Op. 53)
Israel in Trouble (Op. 54)
The Passsion According to St. Matthew (Op. 55)
For My Brother For My Brother (Op. 56)
Amazing Joseph (Op. 57)
The Ten Commandments (Op. 58)
Mice Suite No. 3 (Op. 59)
12 Preludes and Fugues ("Topical") (Op. 60)
Also make final edits of the Philip Glass article revision, and email off to Charles Hiroshi Garrett, Editor of The Grove Enclyclopedia of American Music, Second Edition.
And -- yee-hah! -- actually ahead of the game re blog usage: still at 485 MB (47.46%) of 1024 MB: good because could easily go over tomorrow...
