May 11 - Attention

Much cooler (only up to 71) for composing page 13 of Psalm 55, reformatting King David: VII. Oh for the Wings of a Dove into Encore from Sibelius, and off to see the Theoreticians, with a fascinating harmonic passage, thanks to Mitch -- key sig of one sharp with an A drone -- clearly A Dorian, with an upper chord progression of Am7, Dm/A, Em/A, Am... the penultimate functioning as a 5th-inversion Em11, rather than an Am9 (-3).

Last-minute substitute for Monte Bairos's Music Fundamentals course again (third time with this group and a pleasure to be with them, as well as his other courses, and mine, of course, too), reviewing the circle of fifths, with spins on the overtone series and soggetto cavata, then the lab to record a bit of radio drama dialogue with Doug (for use in one of his classes), and four more movements of All the BBC Sound Files (Op. 192), to wit:

XXI. Weather II
XXII. Boats I
XXIII. Boats II
XXIV. America

purchasing items at the local box (and actually favorably impressed, re price, quality -- the writer's general lack of inclination to shop somewhat offset by the easy access to such variety), then tasks du jour, including bringing Symphony No. 4 (Op. 82) into the Mac from PC (all the pieces between this and Op. 65 having been transcribed in the former previously), creating a pdf for Psalm 92: II. (Op. 9), and utilizing a fourth clip for video of Camino Real: Block 9.

The editing function of Blogspot goes out in the late hours -- unusual, as typically there have been warnings...
