June 6 - Some Inroads

Supposedly the last day of gloom, and perhaps it is (as sun breaks forth in late afternoon), with all of Psalm 59 written (and thereby transferred from Sibelius to Encore King David: X. In Saul's Camp), pdf of final movement Book ("Prehistoric Atlas") completed and totality said movements merged and uploaded onto the International Music Library Score Project, February 2011 back issue of 21st-Century Music finalized and sent to printer, page 19 of The Countess Cathleen orchestrated, back issues of 20th-Century Music 1998 emailed from PC to Mac, and a fourth video clip incorporated into Camino Real: Block 10.

June 5 - Feat on the Ground

Actually, there's no climate change -- simply rains every day still -- including while coming back from a supply run, for a lovely rendezvous with Harriet (Kahlua, vanilla bean ice cream, cake, etc.), while listening to the Vaughan Williams, Arnold Schoenberg, and Gustav Holst channels on Pandora -- before and after tasks including finishing Psalm 58 (14 pages total, with a form turning out resembling the George Crumb [on which it is based], as a rondo of ABCBABA, holding basically to aforesaid instrumentation of yesterday, but with some contrapuntal overlaps -- also directly import a panned / reverbed midi version to iTunes... quite easy compared to the usual Tritone Orchestra approach), pdf'ing the sixth movement of Book ("Prehistoric Atlas"), finishing through page 18 orchestration of The Countess Cathleen, utilizing a third video clip for video of Camino Real: Block 10, transferring the 20th-Century Music 1997 back issues from PC to Mac via email, and begin finalizing the 21st-Century Music February 2011 back issue.

June 4 - Waiting

Climate change seems to be upon us (i.e. more unseasonable rain), but nothing to be done except compose page 7 of Psalm 58 (orchestration thus far --

June 3 - Ups and Downs

On spring-summer break, but where's summer? Or spring, for that matter?  And off at 6:45 in initial hazy, striking sunshine --

head homeward

in increasing yet

interesting gloom to continue work on the January 2006 21st-Century Music reconstruction (more than halfway through), sixth page composed for Psalm 58, pdf done for fourth movement of Book ("Prehistoric Atlas") (Op. 15), orchestration the seventh page of The Countess Cathleen, transference of 20th-Century Music back issues through December 1995 from PC to Mac, and begin video of Camino Real: Block 10.

June 2 - Trending

Grades finished, feels like the first day of break, and the weather a bit better, with a high just cresting 70, to compose the fifth page of Psalm 58, based on a movement of George's Crumb's Makrokosmos I orchestrated after his Echoes of Time and the River, now with a first change of orchestration -- from 2 tubas, soprano, piano, and glockenspiel -- to a substitution of the former for xylophone.  Also pdf the third section (Australia: Olga Walkabout) of Book ("Prehistoric Atlas") (Op. 15) and orchestrate the sixth page of The Countess Cathleen, being careful to provide Harriet with an option of dialogue, rather than singing, for this opening section.

After this, we are both out the door -- severally to a Goat Hall pre-production meeting and the

dinner and a movie with Harriet.
