June 14 - Picture This
First quiz for the Music Historians, with evolving Quiz 2 info as above.
Before this, wake up again early, printing out mass copies of the premier evalution for the first time on the new printer (tweaks evidently having already been made), and discovering a strange phenomenon on the car roof at the moment of departure: a still life of prone insects
(as if preserved in prehistoric amber) --
done in by some unknown agent... hoping this is not some sort of canary-in-a-coal-mine situation...
Onward,
deja vu'ing
down towards the foggy heights,
ever Heracliteanly changing
and yet
with a comforting familiarity
(nice to look at,
but wouldn't want to live
this close to the breezy-chilly action).
After class,
beeline back up the freeway,
against traffic,
past sere pastoralism,
stopping off for DVR's and rendezvous'ing with Harriet at the pool. Set up the new video-to-DVD-and-vice-versa machine (will probably be doing exclusively the former), including the remote (have finally become a belatedly-pragmatic convert), and transfer the Henry Miller in Brooklyn showcase, plus original Little Prince and Antigone productions from analog to digital. Import proves a bit problematic, as does editing, but work arounds are discovered. Also engage in the more typical day-to-days, including
Psalm 62, page 1 composed
Some Stuff (Op. 16): V (part 2) pdf produced
Countess Cathleen 26 orchestrated
21st-Century Music 2005 back issues emailed from PC to Mac
Henry: II. Suicide Song edited for posting on YouTube
Revised rehearsal schedule concocted for San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra
Stay up absurdly late with some of these projects...
First day for the year, incidentally, of high temp cresting above 90 -- 94 to be precise -- one day earlier from norm...
