August 14 - At the Brink


Continue the October 2011 issue of 21st-Century Music, make the changes to the Mona Lyn Reese interview for the March 2011 back issue, perform a final edit/spellcheck of the John Adams Grove article for Harriet to proof, and do the paperwork for several of the Oxford/Grove deadlines -- all before heading in tandem east to Auburn,

leapfrogging from the last walk in the area of three weekends ago to stroll along the shore of


Carnelian


Bay,


on either side of the boatworks,


then along Route 28,


with scrimmed water views to an appropriate turn-around,


with


time


to


linger


in


the


cooling


air


and


the


light


of


the


setting


sun.  


Dinner again at Lakeside, and we head back in the dark, looking towards the first day of the Fall 2011 semester tomorrow. Hard to believe that a year ago was the second hike to Picayune Divide at the Western edge of the Tahoe Basin.  This gradual walk from the California Coast to the Nevada border, should be finished, inshallah, by the end of the season.
