September 8 - Distant Goals
The 21st-Century Music work,
the commute to
Diablo Valley for Quiz 4 with the Theoreticians, with musical examples drawn from Medieval Organa, the Orkney Island Hymn to St. Magnus, the Latin Lyric Song of the Ass, Perotin's Hec Dies, Richard the Lionheart's Ja Nuns, the Italian Trotto, Guillaume de Machaut's Messe de Nostre Dame: Kyrie, and Conrad Paumann's Mit Ganzcem Willen.
The opportunity arises to linger in the lab once more, and get carried away, for various reasons, determining the extent and finish the final 15 movements (for a total of 60) of what may be the last piece derived from the "Materials" folder:
Acid Loops, Op. 195
XLVI. Paul Black
XLVII. Psychedelic Guitar
XLVIII. Raked Cymbals
XLIX. Rangoon
L. Robert Rich
LI. Robin Storey
LII. Signals
LIII. Syntonic Generator
LIV. Twisted Reality
LV. Universal
LVI. Vince Andrews
LVII. Voices of Native America
LVIII. Vortexual Amplitude
LIX. Whiskey
LX. World
Return homeward,
getting a small but prominent and fairly longstanding ding in the windshield fixed at the local petrol stop
(also noting the beginning of what will probably be the sad destruction of a prominent and here-since-before-humankind
knoll in north Fairfield), to produce the pdf for the third part of Orpheus Cycle: VI. Lyre's Melody and compose a fourth system of Psalm 71,
then out again in the
growing dark to rendezvous with Harriet and
Eliza at the latter's for a Goat Hall / San Franciscoco Cabaret Opera fundraiser committtee meeting.
