April 8 - In the Joyous Light
Up before dawn, with frost on the top of the car, dropping videos at the library and stopping for supplies, observing frozen hail in Fairfield from yesterday's storm, over
Solano
Marsh and the
Petaluma Plain,
to
Marin,
Tamalpaiswise,
past Big Rock Ridge and
Marinwood,
west
on
Mission,
jagging north at H,
and up to our old haunts in the
Rafael
Highlands to rendezvous with
Crystal
and
Stanley for a classic walk from the
Crestwood Open Space
to
Plateau 600
Junction,
via the Terra Linda / Sleepy Hollow Divide Eucalyptus Forest and
Hill 650.
It is wonderful to be together, seems like old times, and we agree to meet next week at the same early time, while planning other get-togethers including Christina and Harriet.
From here, off to check the San Anselmo post-box, where financial greetings await, then to breakfast in Pleasant Hill over paper grading, hitting DVC mid-day to record
Henry Miller in Brooklyn: IIIc. Egypt and VII. Idea Song and
pick up the monthly --
astoundingly
augmented in this time of taxes on Tara.
Late lunch
al fresco at
Elephant Bar
(a first exterior here, necessitated by capacity crowds within, the heat lamps ameliorating the brisk temps).
Off we go again to the city, with a long chat with Bette and a stroll on the
Emeryville Bay Trail
long
enough
to
catch
the after-7pm Bay Bridge toll reduced from 6 to 4 dollars.
Parking adjacent to
Davies Hall
below the
blazing last light,
it's time to review
the
San Francisco Symphony in an engaging program of Larchner, Mendelssohn, and Vaughan Williams --
with a full report on 10/11 at 21st-centurymusic.blogspot.com, Commuter Times next Friday, and eventually at 21st-centurymusic.com and in print version of Journal. Returning in mysterious night, can it be possible to compose page 4 of Psalm 52, prepare the pdf of Ecclesiastes: VII. Day of Death for uploading at IMSLP, transfer Street Songs (Op. 29) on email from PC to Mac (continuing to find organizational solutions), and bring the Camino Real: Block 7 video up to 1:15?
Up to 459 MB (44.84%) from yesterday's 456 MB (44.59%) -- a 3 MB uppage, with 50 new images, so vaguely within the range of 3-days usage, and the rest of the weekend should be light, from a picture point of view...
