February 3 - Temporary Parking

Page 8 composed for Psalm 46, plus begin the April 2011 issue of 21st-Century Music (21st-centurymusic.blogspot.com) before testing fate with Quiz 2 for the Theoreticians, with musical examples drawn from the Middle East (kinda), Japan, India, and Europe.

Blast

thereafter,

on

a

northly route, to

Marin, first to make an appointment for standard car maintenance,

then the

traditional grading-and-lunch at

Celia's,

swinging around for more errands and the

post box.

On

the

way

back,

notice a bicyclist on

McGary Road (parallel to I-80 through the Sulfur Springs Mountains, separating Vallejo from Cordelia/Fairfield) who somehow looks like a through-traveler, rather than bound for the no-outlet of

Lynch Canyon, and sure enough -- for the first time to our knowledge since moving to Solano roughly ten years ago -- the northern end of the route is open.

Of course, have to check it out, actually encountering the biker and thanking him for his presence (he acknowledges that the lane has been open almost a year now... so much for any astute powers of observation).

Great to travel, and

will be enlightening to walk the entirety.

For now, it suffices to stroll the first bend

northeast from Lynch Road in the

setting sun,

returning to Harriet and Megan, learning that H's check-in for surgery tomorrow is 6am.  OK, so there's just enough time to do a video for

Pied Piper Suite: Ouverture - Rats! (Op. 132, 2005) and a second front-and-back piano-vocal page of the New Big People Old Trouble So Sunday collection, which turns into eight orchestrated pages, for a total thus far of 15.
